VCAA strongly recommends a minimum of 80 hrs (2 weeks) of structured workplace learning over the duration of the VCE VET program.
Course Description
The SIS20122-SIS30122 dual-qualification pathway offers all the benefits of a standard SIS30122 program but with the added bonus of a genuine exit point for those students who only complete Year 1 of the program. Students who successfully complete the ten required SIS20122 units will receive a SIS20122 Certificate II in Sport & Recreation at the end of Year 1. Students who complete the full two-year program can complete SIS20122 and SIS30122 certificates, and the VCAA scored program. Students may still enter Year 2 of the program, achieve partial completion of SIS30122, and complete the VCAA scored program.
SIS20122 - Certificate II in Sport and Recreation focuses on practical skills in the sport, fitness, and recreation industry, preparing students to assist with activities and perform equipment maintenance.
SIS30122 - Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation
provides students with the skills and knowledge to work in the sport, aquatic or recreation industries.
Career Pathways
Completing Certificate II in Sport & Recreation is a great foundation for students wanting to contribute to their community sports club or start in an assistant-level role in a sport, fitness or recreation organisation. Job Opportunities: Customer service assistant, Leisure Assistant, Recreation assistant, Retail assistant,
Grounds assistant, Facility assistant.
Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation: Employment opportunities reflect roles such as recreation officer, activity operation officer, sport and recreation attendant, community activities officer or leisure services officer, activities officer, Leisure services officer.

Contribution to VCE
ATAR
Scored Assessment is available for the Units 3 and 4 sequence of SIS30122 Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics
and Recreation.
Students wishing to receive an ATAR contribution for the Units 3 and 4 sequence must undertake scored assessment for the purposes of achieving a study score. This study score can contribute directly to the ATAR, either as one of the student's best four studies (the primary four) or as a fifth or sixth study. Further information can be found on the VTAC website: www.vtac.edu.au
Where a student elects not to receive a study score for VCE VET Sport and Recreation, no contribution to the ATAR will be available.
