Course Description


The Certificate III in Emerging Technologies program prepares students for entry-level positions in a range of industry, business and community contexts. It can also lead to further education and training or directly into employment, and aims to develop transferable skills and knowledge in the use of emerging technologies.

The Certificate III in Emerging Technologies qualification reflects the varied and in demand roles required in the digital world and how to apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge. Students will develop enterprise skills and the technical knowledge needed to solve work-place challenges, the impact of evolving technology on jobs, and engage in product design, 3D printing and Smart Cities.

The importance of digital literacy in the workforce will be addressed, and students will gain a deeper understanding of its importance to their work and life.

Career Pathways

Completion of the Certificate III in Emerging Technologies provides a pathway into training and employment in a range of industry, business and community contexts. Some potential occupations may include Multimedia Designer, Social Media Administrator, New Product Designer, Smart Cities Developer, Digital Technician. Further pathways to the Certificate IV in Information Technology and Certificate IV in Cyber Security, through to Diploma and Bachelor levels.
