VCAA strongly recommends a minimum of 80 hrs (2 weeks) of structured workplace learning over the duration of the VCE VET program.
Course Description
This course will equip you with skills and knowledge to prepare work sites in a range of civil construction settings. This may include preparation work on new housing or industrial estates, to working on local roads and freeways. The course is designed to enhance your civil construction trades prospects and give you an introduction to the industry specific trade skills and also the requirements of occupational health and safety procedures within the industry.
Career Pathways
Upon successful completion of this program you may receive credit towards the RII30815 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operation and RII40715 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision.
Successful completion of this program prepares you with a solid foundation of practical skills required to successfully gain an apprenticeship in the civil construction industry.
Program Requirements
Personal protective clothing and equipment to be supplied by student: Workpants ,Hi-vis top (polo shirt/jumper), Work boots - steel capped PPE, Earplugs , Face mask for dust protection, Safety glasses , Hard hat
Equipment and books to be supplied by student: Ballpoint pen and notebook , Bricklayers pencil/Pencils: 2H and HB , USB
