Course Description
This course will equip you with comprehensive skills and knowledge to enter the carpentry or building trades. The course is designed to enhance your carpentry and/or associated building trades prospects and gives you an introduction to the industry specific trade skills such as hand and power tools and also the requirements of occupational health and safety procedures within the industry.
Career Pathways
The immediate pathway and career opportunity is into a full- time apprenticeship in carpentry. You may receive training credits which reduces the off-the-job training requirement. Other career paths within the construction industry include building site maintenance, foremanship, building administration, estimation, building inspection, drafting (architectural) and electronic.
Program Requirements
Program Requirements: This course includes the delivery of First Aid & Construction Induction (White Card). If you already have completed these units previously it is a great benefit! You MUST email vetinschools@gordontafe.edu.au your USI Transcript or Statement of Attainment prior to starting the course.
Additional Costs: Protective clothing and minor equipment may also need to be purchased.
